Victorian Brassbound Walnut Writing Slope.
A classic and beautiful example of a victorian brassbound and brass inlaid walnut writing slope dating back to c.1870.
The box features a brass name plate to the top with the engraved message “Presented To D.M.L Lundman on her 21st Birthday March 13th 1906” and a brass key escutcheon surrounding a working brahma lock and tasselled key
The box houses the original black leather writing surface, two sections with original crown inkwells in good condition, a pen slope with section underneath and nib slope all in the original lacquer.
There is space to the back of the inside lid to store stationary.
Underneath the writing surface are two secret drawers to access them you pull the divider between the nib slope and pen slope.
A wonderful writing slope in superb quality and condition measuring 40 x 27 and stands 19 cm high.
