We are antique box specialists, with a focus on high quality music boxes, jewellery boxes, sewing boxes, games boxes, tantalus boxes, apprentice pieces, tea caddies and snuff boxes; and we also have a variety of other antique collectibles.
Our heritage, Mostly Boxes is an independent run antiques business, founded by the world-renowned antique box restorer and Specialist Gary Munday (See his photo on the main page and in our video descriptions of items). He has a reputation for integrity, expertise, fine restoration and quality. He had a shop for over 35 years and was located at 93 High Street, Eton, Berkshire, SL4 6AF, UK: unfortunately it is now closed and we operate solely online and at antique trade fairs.
If you have had the pleasure of a visit, you will know that it is a treasure trove of hand- picked antiques and collectables. It was placed in Britain’s top 50 antiques shops by Period Living Traditional Homes Homes who described it as specialising in “..wooden, mother- of – pearl and tortoiseshell boxes, plus decorative items from the 18th and 19th centuries.” The shop regularly featured in Miller’s Antique price guide as “MB”. Also, in 2018 Mostly Boxes featured in the Times newspaper travel section as the place to visit for antiques when in Windsor.
Moving forward: Mostly Boxes Antiques is now solely an online presence. We are on a number of antique platforms including 1stDibs.com, Selling Antiques.co.uk and LoveAntiques.com. This move will allow us to focus on high quality luxury items at the lowest prices. The website is managed by me (Sarah Munday (Gary’s daughter)) leaving Gary, Chris and Dave to focus on restoring and building our stock of beautiful antiques on the website.
