Victorian Burr Walnut Sewing Box Featuring A Mother Of Pearl and Abalone Top and Key Escutcheon.
A beautiful example of a Victorian Burr Walnut sewing box dating back to 1860. The box features ebony edging, a working lock and key and a stunning mother of pearl and abalone top and key escutcheon.
Open the box to reveal the original silk interior and fitted sewing tray complete with two thimbles, six reals, three lidded compartments and a packet of needles. The box features lots of space to the underneath for sewing implements or jewellery. We have relined the rest of the box with handcrafted marble paper.
Superb quality and condition measuring 26 x 18 and stands 12 cm high.
