Victorian Walnut Brassbound Writing slope, with secret drawers.
An outstanding example of a Victorian Brassbound walnut writing slope
dating back to c.1850. With a wonderful brass top and key escutcheon it has a Brahma lock but unfortunately we don’t have the key.
Open the box to reveal a coromandel interior with a mahogany lining , A black leather writing surface , a nib and pen slope and two ink well sections complete with ink wells. The box also features three secret drawers underneath the writing surface to access them pull up the divider between the nib slope and inkwell. Behind the back of the inside lid features space for paperwork.
Superb quality and condition measuring 41 x 26 and stands 18 cm high
