Victorian Oak Medicine Fitted Box.
A Exquisite example of a Victorian Oak medicine homeopathic box dating back c.1880.
The box features a top and key escutcheon unfortunately the tasselled key no longer works the lock.
Open the box to reveal a fully fitted interior full of glass medicine bottles all of them are labelled and some of them have their original medicine still inside.
The box has the owners label to the inside which reads “By Appointment To The E Gould & Son Chemists 59 Moorgate Street. E.C London Homoeopathic Hospital”
The box also features a front drawer with a brass handle, the drawer works of a locking pin which is located inside the box. The drawers contains seven bottles in seven compartments all labelled and several different implements in the second section.
A wonderful piece of history in superb quality and condition measuring 36 x 26 and stands 18cm high.
