Victorian Burr Walnut Combination Writing/Jewellery Box With Tunbridge Ware Inlay.
A beautiful Victorian jewellery box in a superb piece of burr walnut dating back to c.1860. The box features beautiful Tunbridge ware bands running down each side of the box with a mother of pearl escutcheon to the front and top.
The box is complete with a working lock and key. Open the box to reveal the original jewellery tray take out the tray and pull down the front of the box to reveal a green leather writing slope, two sections for ink wells and a lidded pen compartment to the centre.
We have relined the back of the inside lid and tray with handcrafted marble paper.
Superb quality and condition measuring 30 x 23 and stands 15cm high.
