Georgian Flame Mahogany Vanity Box.
A stunning example of a Georgian Flame Mahogany vanity box dating back to c.1820. The vaniety box has a brass handle to the top of the box and the drawer with a brass top and key escutcheon complete with a working lock and key.
Open the box to reveal the beautiful original green velvet interior with a lidded section to keep vaniety or sewing implements safe. It has several silver plated cut glass bottles and jars and a few sewing and vanity implements and two silver plated inkwells. Lift the tray to reveal a compartment to the underneath.There is a stationary slip behind the green velvet to the back of the inside lid and a fully fitted front drawer in green velvet- to access it lift the brass pin to the inside.
