Victorian Mahogany Writing/Sewing Box On A Stand.
A superb Victorian Mahogany Writing and Sewing box On a stand dating back to c.1880. The box is edged in boxwood and satinwood.
Featuring two drawers to the front with brass handles the top drawer features a working lock and key, we have relined both drawers with red handcrafted marble paper.
Open the top drawer to bring down the tambour top which features two ink well sections with silver topped inkwells, a stationary rack to the back a pen slope with section to the underneath. Bring the top of the box down to reveal a red releathered writing surface. The second drawer comes out to reveal a sewing basket to the underneath. The writing box sits on wonderful Mahogany legs.
It measures 39 x 32 and stands 82 cm high.
