Victorian Brassbound Walnut Military Style Writing Slope.
A superb example of a Victorian Brassbound Military style writing slope in a beautiful piece of walnut. The box dates back to c.1870.
It features a brass top and key escutcheon.
Open the box to reveal the original black and gold writing surface
a pen slope with compartment underneath, a nib slop and two inkwell sections. Open the back of the inside lid to see space for paperwork. There is also two secret drawers (which work by pulling up the inkwell divider) underneath the writing surface.
The box is complete with a working lock and key.
It measures 35 x24 and stands 16.5 high.
