An exceptional example of a Victorian Brassbound Black Walnut Writing slope dating back to c.1870. An outstanding piece of black walnut in superb condition. The box features a brass top and key escutcheon and a working lock and key.
Open the box to reveal a magnificent interior, it has it’s original leather writing surface, a stationary rack to the front of the box , with space to the back of the inside lid for paperwork and more room to the section underneath the writing surface with secret drawers to reveal them pull up the divider between the inkwell and nib slope . The box has a pan slope with section underneath, two inkwell sections with two original inkwells in good condition and a nib slope featuring pens, nibs and stationary implements.
A truly beautiful box in super condition.
The box measures 46 x 28 and stands 20 cm high.
