Victorian Anglo Indian Solid Ebony & Brass Writing Box.
A exceptional example of a Victorian Anglo Indian brassbound Ebony writing box dating back to c.1870. The box features decorative brass mounts to the top and key escutcheon with initials to the top centre. The box is complete with a working lock and key.
The box houses a small writing surface to the front, two silver topped inkwells with a pen slope with section underneath, lidded sections. Pull down the writing slope to to reveal another writing surface with section underneath for paperwork and three secret drawers. The box has stationary rack to back of the inside lid.
Superb quality and condition measuring 42 x 24 and stands 14 cm high.
