A superb example of a Regency Rosewood writing slope, dating back to c.1820.
The writing slope features beautifully decorative brass foliate inlay to the top and front of the box ,it has a working Brahma lock and key and flush military brass handles to the sides.
Open the box to reveal 19th century brass topped inkwells, it’s original leather writing surface, a nib slope and lidded pen compartment.
It has a letter storage compartment to the back of the inside lid and more room for storage underneath the writing surface.
Superb quality and condition measuring 35 ch by 24cm and 14cm high.
