William IV Rosewood Brassbound Vanity Box.
An exceptional example of a William IV Rosewood Brassbound vanity box dating back to c.1840.
The box features a shaped brass top escutcheon and a brass key escutcheon complete with a working lock and decorative key.
The box houses a wonderfully fitted interior.
It houses silver plated cut glass vanity dishes and bottles And three cut glass bottles, the tray features five bone handled tools such as a button hole and nail file. Lift out the tray to reveal a section to the underneath.The front fitted jewellery drawer operates by pushing a button which is located inside the back of the box.
The box measures 31 x 23and stands 18 cm high.
A truly wonderful piece of history.
