Victorian oak Fitted Sewing Box By “Finnigans Manchester”
A superb example of a Victorian oak fitted sewing box dating back to c.1880.
The box has brass handles to the sides with a brass shield escutcheon to the top complete working lock and tasselled key.
Open the box to reveal the original green velvet and satin fitted sewing interior, with four sections to the back of the inside lid the two bottom sections feature two packs of original needles with a large section to the centre.
The box features a fitted sewing tray with mostly original sewing tools such as a thimble, scissors, button hooks with mother of pearl handles. There is space underneath the tray to add more sewing implements.
A superb sewing box in wonderful condition measuring 26 x 19 and stands 10cm high.
