Victorian Burr Walnut Brass Inlaid Sewing Box.
A striking example of a Victorian Sewing box in a glorious piece of burr walnut dating back to c.1860. The box features a brass inlaid design to the top and front of the box with a shaped brass top and key escutcheon complete a working lock and key.
Open the box to reveal the original orange silk and satin interior complete with an original fitted sewing tray with several sewing reels, two thimbles and some needles in there original packets. It has three lidded compartments. Take the tray out to see the base of the box that we have relined in handcrafted marble paper to match the original silk and satin.
Superb quality and condition measuring 30 x 22 and stands 16 cmhigh.
