19th Century French Palais Royal Burr Cedar Jewellery Box.
A beautiful example of a 19th century French Palais Royal Burr Cedar Jewellery box dating back to c.1860.
The box is brassbound with ebonised fruitwood borders, cross banded in tulipwood and brass inlaid. The box has a decorative brass escutcheon to the top centre.
Open the box to reveal the makers label and a professionally relined interior in hand marbled paper. It sits on four wooden feet and is complete with a working lock and key.
The box measures: 16 x 12 and stands 8cm high.
